☐ Have the furnace or heat pump serviced.
☐ Change the filter. Write the size on the front of this sheet.
☐ Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
☐ Clear gutters once the leaves are down.
5 December

Before 31 December
☐ Write down the end date of every warranty: home, builder, roof, heating, appliances.
☐ Book any covered repair before its warranty ends.
☐ Keep this year’s receipts for work on the house together.
At insurance renewal
☐ Check the policy still matches the house: roof age, square footage, finished basement.
☐ Note your deductible on the front of this sheet.
On a freezing night
☐ Let a cold tap on an outside wall drip.
☐ Open the cabinet doors under sinks on outside walls.
☐ Away for a few days? Keep the heat on, never off.
